Strengthening District Bar Associations and Setting up Facilitation Kiosks in Courts

Strengthening District Bar Associations and Setting up Facilitation Kiosks was a Project of Aurat Foundation under GEP (Supported by USAID). YMSESDO implemented the project in District Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) Sindh. The project was framed to strengthen District Bar Associations through Capacity Building of Lawyers (through trainings on Gender sensitization and pro women laws) and provision of required facilities and infrastructure i.e Computer, Printer, Scanner, Sofa set, Water Dispenser, Guest Chairs, Library Chairs and Law Books. On other hand Help desk/Information Kiosk was also planned to guide/council Women litigants and also supports them through provision of free legal aid services. YMSESDO successfully implemented the project and produced resultant progress.  Through this project 195 lawyers trained on pro women laws and also sensitized with basic gender concepts. 16 cases were managed under this grant where as office of District Bar Association Shaheed Benazirabad also provided all of required infrastructure as well as registered with Pakistan Law Site.
